From here in
the USA in the State of Washington:
I have been very busy
with my new breeding program. I have 30 breeding pairs mated and working for
me - (6 pairs of N/C Red White Barred Saxon Shields) (2 pairs of N/C Black
White Barred Saxon Shields) ( 3 pairs of N/C Blue Spangle Saxon Shields) ( 6
pairs of Black White Barred Silesians ) ( 2 pairs of Red White Barred
Silesians) ( 6 pairs of Black White Barred Saxon Swallows) (2 pairs of Red
White Barred Saxon Fullheads) ( 3 pairs of Blue Black Barred Saxon Fullhead
Swallows) - So far I have banded 22 young birds and have several pairs on
recently hatched young birds. I attended the local Snohomish County Pigeon
Club meeting. The date and location for their annual all breeds pigeon show
was announced as the first Saturday in October. They've asked me
if it would be possible to have a NCPC meet at this show and I responded by
saying that I would look at it and get back to them. The positive attribute
would be a portion of the entry fee would be given to the NCPC. - Possible
exhibitors would include; Mitch Slagle, Dave Harris, Dave Holloway, Rob
Trimlin, Marvin Jones, Gene Nolan and myself. They have asked
Mike Cobb our NCPC Vice President that lives in Los Angeles, California to be
this years all breed judge. I have received several inquiries here in the
Pacific Northwest looking for breeding pairs of Swallows and Shields. I have
referred them to other breeders as I will not have anything available until
late fall. With the help of our NCPC Junior Director Mitch Slagle we have
placed numerous fliers up at all the local feed stores offering Color Pigeons
to 4-H Juveniles in order to help locate and promote new "Color Pigeon"
breeders. Beginning in mid August, we plan on attending several County and
State Fairs in order to introduce our Color Pigeons to them. We believe that
exposure and availability of material will offer a great deal of excitement.
Because Mitch Slagle has a long history of being very pro-active in Washington
States 4-H organization he can relate to this very important group.
