The Sequence Of Breeds According To The German Standard

Hans Schipper of Holland on Feb. 27, 2008

The
Ice pigeon is not a specific Saxon
breed! The origin of the muffed varieties is Silesia for the orange eyed (black
bar and chequered), Saxony for the dark eyed (barless, white bar and spangled).
The clean legged come from South Germany (chequered) and Saxony (other colors)
All these
varieties are specified in one standard; the special club wants to have them
lined up together: clean legged first, than the muffed.
The same case
with Starlings. Black varieties
are original South German pigeons, the blues come from Thuringia. These are also
specified in one standard .
The origin of
Clean legged Field pigeons is
Thuringia and Saxony.

The
Berne Halfbeak,
Eichbühl and
Poster are added to the group of
Swiss Color pigeons for practical reasons. Breeders want to have them judged by
an experienced judge and succeeded in transference from the group of utility
pigeons to the Swiss color pigeons, at shows forming a closed collection.
Problems occurred German shows.
The European Standard Committee, ESC,
objected principally, because those breeds show other characteristics not common
for color pigeons. The EE-section overruled the standpoint of the ESC.The
European Judging system -
